In 2024 the Cayuga Collection, award-winning, sustainable luxury hotels in Costa Rica, Panama & Nicaragua committed to protect and preserve the communities and ecosystems that surround them, reached out to the SOMOS Foundation to manage and administer a donation.

Cayuga and SOMOS worked together to identify and develop a one-day educational field trip called Girls in Science. This collaboration led to the inspiration of VERA an immersive environmental education and hands-on field trip program that aims to inspire as it fosters an understanding of local ecosystems, promotes conservation, and engages students in scientific inquiry and cultural appreciation.
