GEOPORTERS is a nonprofit legally formed in Costa Rica in 2016 with the mission to develop a wide range of environmental conservation projects in Bahía Ballena.

In the second term of 2020, GEOPORTERS Costa Rica solicited a grant from Fundación SOMOS for the Bahía Ballena Libre de Plástico (Bahia Ballena Plastic Free) and the Semilla de Ballena reforestation project.

The focus was on integrating the components of research and monitoring, environmental education in children and young people from educational centers, training for businesses, and awareness campaigns.
