Support La Costa Chicas (formally Goals 4 Girls) in their initiative to teach young girls soccer with a purpose. Developed and held a learning and leisure activity for the girls to learn about the Costa Rica Coral Restoration project and a female empowerment talk with guest speaker.
The Lagunas School is a single-teacher school that, before the SOMOS project, had a single physical space, where lessons were given, cooking was done, children ate in the same classroom, and it did not have a playground.
Hand in hand with the Educational Excellence Recognition Program, the Tabacón Hotel also began a fundraising campaign with its clients last year, with which the hotel will contribute in equal parts the amount donated by its guests.
For this campaign, the Somos Foundation joined the social responsibility efforts, with which we are working to bring these funds to support programs for education, health, environment and culture in La Fortuna de San Carlos.
SOMOS partnered with Stanford University Extreme Design to co-design VERA: Visión Ecológica de la Recreación y el Aprendizaje enriches children's lives in Uvita through immersive environmental education and hands-on field trips. The program aims to inspire as it fosters an understanding of local ecosystems, promotes conservation, and engages students in scientific inquiry and cultural appreciation.
Project funded by the C.S. Foundation Mott and administered by the Asociación Costa Rica por Siempre (ACRXS), seeks to support seven community foundations in improving their organizational management and their eventual integration into a network, to empower themselves individually and the movement as a whole. SOMOS received a small grant to improve and update of SOMOS' media and fundraising.
Executed SELAL English Language and Leadership camp to Puerto Cortés/Palmar communities where over 150 students benefited in 3 locations: Puerto Cortés, Bahía Ballena & Puerto Jiménez with 90 companies and community leaders supporting the Program.
